P Daddy (ON SAXOFUN & FROLICS.)
Solo album "Sax on Legs", Blue Note records, 1956.
Daddy played sax from an early age and toyed with the idea of going pro before eventually following his true calling to work as a missionary priest in Rhodesia.
Daddy's poor hearing led to some confusion however when his superiors insisted that sex was totally forbidden and he duly left Rhodesia with his instrument under his arm and his tail between his legs.
Upon his return to Ireland he signed up for a FÁS course in Sax studies, and armed with a City and Guilds qualification, he later went on to college to gain a 1st class degree in Saxophology.
He is now the driving force behind a new nationwide campaign to encourage people to practise safe sax.
